Marcela Frencia joined the FMS as Programme Coordinator in 2019. She holds a university degree in social work from National University of Córdoba (UNC) and she has a higher diploma in gender and public policies from Latin American School of Social Sciences (FLACSO by its acronym in Spanish.
She has an impressive experience as a feminist activist and defender of women’s rights. She is also an expert in political incidence to bring about the legislative, political and cultural changes that allow not only the women’s rights agenda to advance but also the planning and generation of strategic alliances and networks among women’s organisations, government institutions and other key human rights actors.
She has designed and coordinated training and education actions addressed to key actors, such as women territorial figures, young people and health and education professionals; in addition, she has coordinated and created education/training/communication materials for different audiences.
In 2018, she was one of the specialists who gave a presentation in the Lower House of Congress of Argentina, in the context of the parliamentary debate about the legal interruption of pregnancy.
